Description: The Oregon 100 is a regularity trials rally where participants attempt to match a target speed on a set course of approximately 100 miles. Random checkpoints will record rider’s times and scoring will be based on achieving the closest time to the target time for each stage. The lowest score being the winner, being over or under the target speed, or penalties, will add points to the score. The goal of the event is fun and safe, skilled riding. If you are here for any other reason, you are not welcome. 




1. All participants are responsible for self-reporting to judges and self-regulation when participating. 


2. Riding scooters is potentially hazardous. All riders assume individual responsibility for operating their vehicle on public roads. 


3. Riders must have appropriately safe vehicles and riding gear to participate. This is at the sole discretion of judges. At a minimum, vehicles must have working lights and brakes, legal registration, be legally licensed to operate their vehicle on public roads and insurance. Riders are responsible to self-report if they do not meet this requirement. Riders must wear appropriate clothing and safety equipment as required by state law. All riders are encouraged to wear protective armored riding gear, full face helmets, eye protection, hand protection, over the ankle boots. 


4. Riders may participate individually or ride with a partner (a second scooter). There is one lone average speed for each stage and entire route. Classes based on cc’s:  (continues on back)

Awards presented to best in class and overall winner with time closest to the average. 


5. Target speeds are intentionally set below the speed limit and course areas with significant traffic or traffic lights are adjusted to account for average speeds. 


6. Scoring. Each Stage has a target time based on average speed and distance, predetermined before the event. Arriving at the checkpoint (end of the stage) exactly on time, the rider would receive a score of “0” for the stage. Penalties are assessed during each stage. The stages are added together for a total score. Lowest score is winner. The following are current penalties:

1 minute late to a checkpoint = 1 penalty point

1 minute early to a checkpoint = 3 penalty points

Miss a checkpoint = 50 penalty points

Deviate from route = 100 penalty points


6. Violation of any traffic rules (e.g. traffic tickets) or any unsafe behaviors are grounds for immediate disqualification at the sole discretion of any judge. Participants must self-report any incidents or violations. 


7. Any unsafe behavior by a participant is grounds for disqualification. This includes but is not limited to observations by judges or other participants (and reported to the judges). Behavior is not limited to riding. 


8. Riders must stop at all checkpoints and have their times recorded. If a checkpoint is missed rider may may turn around and go back to get their score recorded. If a rider arrives at a second checkpoint before having a prior checkpoint recorded, the two times will be recorded and a 60 minute penalty assessed for missing the previous checkpoint. 


9. Riders will be given a turn by turn route instructions and/or map of the course. The course will also be marked to the degree possible. Riders should consider their route instructions and/or map to be the primary means of navigating the course.  


10. Checkpoint 2 is a Lunch stop. You will need to record your arrival time for the lunch checkpoint. At 60 minutes after the recorded arrival time, proceed to Checkpoint 3, via route instructions. Gas stops on the route will be considered “on the clock.”


11. Good Samaritan rule: scooters break. A “sweeper” rider will ride the route and a support truck will be available for disabled vehicles. All participants are expected to lend assistance to any disabled vehicle. This means stopping and assisting the other participant. The participant on the disabled vehicle must waive riders on if they are able to repair their scooter or do not need assistance. Riders are allowed to self-record time spent assisting any other participant and this time will be deducted from their score. Report any time deduction to finish-line officials. Participants who are unable to continue (e.g. significant mechanical failure) will have access to a support truck. 


12. No GPS* or electronic navigation. Clocks, watches, cell phone timers/clocks are allowed. Digital or mechanical speedometers only. Use of GPS for navigation or average speed calculation, or as a speedometer is grounds for immediate disqualification. It is your responsibility to know how accurate/inaccurate your speedometer is. However, if lost, phone maps are allowed to get you back on course.  If  you are not competing and just riding the route, you can use a GPS as long as you are not leading others who are competing.


13. Participants may ride at any legal speed to achieve their target average (including very slowly). Participants are not allowed to stop (i.e. feet on ground to wait and count up minutes) except for safety reasons or mechanical failure. You would also have Good Samaritans stopping and messing up their time.


14. Teams. Teams of four scooters are allowed. Scooters may ride together or apart. The three best scores among the 4 members will be calculated for final score. Team sign-up will take place Saturday morning before the first rider leaves.


15. Groups. A minimum if 2 scooters will leave exery 3 minutes . A maximum a 4 scooters are allowed to travel together. 


16. Participants are responsible for reading and understanding all rally guidelines. All decisions regarding participation are at the sole discretion of the rally organizer. 


17. Have fun.
