After a big ride like that and plenty of summer riding is a good idea to do a once over and check your nuts.

I found a few things, missing flywheel cover bolt (CDI not grounded ), snugged up front wheel nuts, broken exhaust spring on the GL, cable adjustment.... Just a good idea to maintain vs repair.

Looks like the clutch side retaining stud backed out and that plus the rectangle washer had a party. Somehow the gear circlip was off too but I think that was the violent stop of the motor
