I'm in p200 hell right now! Did a quick rebuild last year for Joey in Corvallis. You know how it's a balancing act of what all is replaced. Well, it kept dying at idle. Got some help from @English Dave and confirmed that the fly bearing was bad and definitely part of the problem.
Replace the bearing and seal, and then similar issue. So I swapped a different carb on there, only had a 20/20 but drastic difference and it started idling. Tried the 24/24 again and it just wouldn't idle.
So now I'm basically jetting the 20/20 and it's kinda right but not perfect. The 24/24 was stock jetting 160/be 3/116 and 55/160. The 20/20 ran fine with the 160/be 3/116 but was smokey and idle was finicky. So I've gone to a 45/120 idle, which is the happiest of what I have. 38/120 didn't quite work and 50/140 was equally not as happy.
For the main I'm down to 140/be 3/107 and it's much more normal smoke. I've got mostly a decent idle but it occasionally surges and other times dies (I can open the throttle and stop it from dying).
Who's got ideas? Looking at you @Scott Gamron and any other fresh ideas.
I'm an idiot. It was a massive air leak.
Pro tip, if you use the fancy plug to block off the oil gear, also grind and clearance the little locator bit on the bottom of the air box oil pump.
