A bean can with a hole in the bottom, made by the correct size of nail, is all that's required for smooth running.

Only if you intend removing the headlight and handlebars, that's the whole headset, and tightening the fork bearings. Bit of a pain, but if all you need is to align the handlebar there is a largish through bolt in the headset that you loosen slightly, twist the headset then tighten back up. If the bearing needs tightening, there is a Bodge way to do it.
